In a previous article I created, that you can read if you CLICK HERE, I discussed the fact that lack of motivation is a formula for decreased testosterone levels. We need ways to stay motivated so we can do the things we enjoy every day and so we can perform if we have one of those 9 to 5 jobs.
I am totally confident and the studies also show that if you can increase motivation today for increased testosterone, your quality of life will improve astronomically!
What are Some Methods for Improving Our Motivation?
There are many ways you can increase your motivation which can increase low T. Here are some of those ways:
Have a Purpose and Create Intention
Studies have shown that having a purpose gives us deep-rooted motivation. As opposed to external motivation, deep-rooted motivation makes a person think and behave more creatively instead of just going from one thing to another without considering why. Having a genuine purpose helps to create the passion that is the energy of success. When we are intent on something, we give ourselves some direction, we create a framework or blueprint, and it also sets invisible forces in motion. It programs our subconscious to recognize new patterns and make new choices.
I like this quote for Terry Orlick:
“The heart of human excellence often begins to beat when you discover a pursuit that absorbs you, frees you, challenges you, or gives you a sense of meaning, joy, or passion.”
Work Hard and Dream Harder and Keep Making Wishes
Setting goals is a excellent way to increase motivation. May people have issues to actually achieving their goals. But, one way to overcome
that is by changing the way you think of the process. We should start by dreaming and visualizing life as we would like it to be. Making wishes is another way to make goal setting more fun and can make achieving them easier.
In the past, most people believed that being accountable to others makes you more likely to achieve your goals. But, some recent research by psychologists indicates that telling others about our goals makes us less likely to achieve them, because we feel as though we’ve already done it, which leads to a decrease in motivation.
It is always best and should be part of your routine, to write your goals down. Once you have written it down, instead of it only being a thought, it holds space in physical reality( oooh, that’s deep! ), and radiates and attracts like energy. It’s also good to be reminded of our goals frequently, so having something to look back on for reference is critical.
Another benefit of writing them down is being able to track your progress which leads to the next important point, which is, you have to pat yourself on the back when you do a good job.
Cee Lo Green, of all people, said this:
“In my lifetime, I’ve come to realize that you can’t depend upon other people for what you want. You can’t be scared to go out and get it. You have to dream big, wish hard & chase after your goals, because no one is going to do it for you.”
You Must Reward Yourself for a Job Well Done!
I don’t know about you, but I have dreams, I make wishes and of course I set goals for myself. We can talk about what we are going to do all
we want, but we won’t see any results until we start doing the work to achieve these things we dream or wish of. If you find yourself constantly putting off doing the work that needs to be done to achieve your goals, just make yourself a promise to do something fun and reward yourself after you completed the task. It doesn’t matter if it is relaxing or maybe eating something you love, giving yourself a present, making more time for your hobbies, or going on a fun new adventure. When we do this, we create external motivation by finding ways to treat ourselves for accomplishing what we set out to do and for being the amazing human beings that we are. Following through is everything!
Remember, winners never quit and quitters never win. So win, for yourself!
Don’t be afraid to succeed.
We all Have to Face and Embrace Our Fears
Fear can increase our motivation, but it can also decrease it depending on what we’re afraid of. Getting in touch with our fears is a great way to overcome things that are blocking us and limiting our beliefs, that may be holding us back. Instead of kidding ourselves and denying our fears exist, we need to face them head on, and embrace them with everything we have. We should make a list of everything we tend to be afraid of, and get to know and accept ourselves as we are. We should not judge our feelings as wrong or something we need to be free of. Everything is there for a reason. Instead of considering them wrong or bad, let’s see what value they may offer, and when we realize we don’t need them anymore, let them go. The more we know about ourselves, including our shadows or supposed weaknesses, the more they will become our strengths.
“You block your dream when you allow fear to grow bigger than your faith.” – Mary Manin Morrissey
We Need Nutrition and Regular Exercise
Proper nutrition and regular exercise are obviously important ingredients to living a happy and healthy life. When we have a clear head from
eating nutrient rich foods, inspiration, intention and motivation will come naturally. If we’re loaded up with unhealthy fast foods, processed foods, high levels of sugar, and harmful fats then we will feel sluggish and depressed which will affect our motivation. Getting exercise raises the endorphin levels and produces a natural state of well-being. In this state, we ignore our fears and we can accomplish our dreams and wishes more easily.
If one of our best Presidents ever says the following, I have a tendency to believe it:
“Physical fitness is not only one of the most important keys to a healthy body, it is the basis of dynamic and creative intellectual activity.”
-John F. Kennedy
The Things You Love and are Grateful For.
Make lists about all the things you love and are grateful for. The more loving and appreciative we are, the easier it is to think positively and
keep moving in the right direction throughout each day and whole life. It only takes a few negative thoughts consecutively to trigger a fight-or-flight response which causes all kinds of stress chemicals in our bodies. Stress has absolutely been proven to inhibit digestion, sex drive, testosterone and other hormone production and many other body functions.
The good news is that we can train our minds to break the cycle of negativity. We can choose not to sweat the small stuff. The more we stay in a state of mind of love and graciousness, the more we are training not only our minds but also our feelings to respond to the situations in our lives in a better way. Being loving and grateful is one of the best things we can do to stay on track and increase motivation.
Another quote I really like:
“Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.”
Creative Writing and Expression
If we make a commitment to write out our thoughts even when they are negative, we give ourselves a way to vent. Noticing the patterns that
we see can be an important aid in helping to prevent stress. Sometimes just by writing down our objections, we solve our own problems, because when we see it we can solve it right away. Try making a list of everything negative, and reading it back in a more positive way. We don’t have to believe it, but over time it will retrain our minds to avoid going into fight-or-flight response.
If we write about our goals, that can also be very helpful in this process. The more clear we get on what they are, the easier it is to move toward them. If we don’t know what we want then how are we ever going to get it? Write it down. Break your larger goals down into smaller steps you can take for the day. Be as specific as possible.
Being creative and expressing yourself creatively is another way to get in a good flow. Being creative and doing what we love is a big part of following whatever our purpose in life may be. We need to make time to do what we enjoy, no matter what it is, as long as it isn’t hurting anybody. It doesn’t matter whether it is playing music, preparing a favorite meal, painting, yoga, or dancing. Following our passions not only makes us more interesting, but it also makes life more fulfilling.
You have seen this quote and it is very true:
“All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.”
We Should Keep Trying to Learn New Skills
I know there are many times we feel like we are just stuck in a the same old routine, and the truth is we probably are. You need to make some
time to learn new things. I literally try to learn something new every day. Without new tools or skills to use in our lives, we are most likely limited to where we’re at. Growing, learning, discovering new information, and improving ourselves, we can gain new insights to achieve our goals and live a much more inspired life. Listen to speakers, read books, research online, watch movies, take classes, go out and get real life experience.
I’m not going to lie, Einstein is one of my heroes and he is so right here:
“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”
Get Out of the House and Into Some Nature
I could be wrong, but I am pretty sure we were not meant to live our lives in boxes looking at brightly lit screens all the time while putting
unhealthful foods in our mouths. Nature is an awesome healer. By breathing fresh air, putting our bare feet on the earth, walking, running, absorbing sunshine, swimming, and listening to the birds and other animals in the wild, we can reduce stress and unlock untapped potential. If you can live closely with nature, it will bring joy, health, creativity, and help you to see the abundance of life that is all around us. Sometimes taking a break is the best way to get motivated and inspired. Get your nature fix today, you will not regret it!
Isn’t this quote interesting:
“Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.”
